Trying to Smile

Guest blogger: Daddy!
Aaron has been sneaking out some smiles, unfortunately Mommy & Daddy haven't been lucky enough to get a picture of one, this is the closest we have so far:

As you can see, Ryan doesn't seem to have a problem smiling!

Mommy never has had any problem smiling, especially when surrounded by her boys!

Oh SH*@!!!!!

Well it's official, Ryan has said his first cuss word thanks to his daddy! Paul was watching the Buckeyes play and someone missed an open 3 pointer. Daddy was upset and said "Oh Sh*@!" Before I knew what was happening Ryan repeated it! I gave Paul a dirty look and then said, "At least he waited until he was three to do it!" We had a good laugh after that...needless to say, daddy will need to watch his language while watching his favorite sports teams on television now!

Happy Anniversary Grandma and Papa Sadler!

Grandma and PaPa Sadler celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on November 30th. We celebrated that, Thanksgiving, and Paul/Ryan's birthday all at once! It was SOME party! Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures and video from the anniversary portion of the party! It was GREAT b/c Paul Sr. FINALLY got Jane! He had pictures made from their wedding proofs. Jane has been complaining for 40 years that he never let her get pictures and so he had them done...Boy was she surprised and HAPPY!

5 minutes later and STILL smiling...I think she REALLY liked it!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

As mentioned previously, we celebrated a bunch of things all at once! Ryan's birthday party was quite fun! He received tons of wonderful gifts and some as far away as Arizona and Georgia! Thank you very much everyone!

One of the best gifts was that Uncle Marv made his birthday cake! He did a fantastic job of making a Spongebob cake, which Ryan is STILL talking about! We had to sing happy birthday to Ryan three or four times because he liked it so much! I'm not sure if he liked the attention or that he got to blow out a candle afterwards! Nonetheless, he really enjoyed his birthday and here are a few pictures from the party as well as some video footage of Ryan singing happy birthday over and over again after we sang it to him.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Paul turned the big 3-5 last Friday. We celebrated by going to one of his favorite restaurants-Olive Garden and then going to see the movie Role Models. We finished up the evening by going to Delphos to congratulate them on a state title! Luckily "am-ma, papa--Cassie" came to watch the boys so we could have a worry free evening! Here is a picture of Paul and his boys on his birthday!

Here is Ryan wishing his dad a happy birthday...you might have to listen a couple of times to get it!

Well baby check-ups

Both Ryan and Aaron had well baby check-ups last week. I called in Papa Clement for reinforcements and boy was I glad I did! For Ryan's three year check up he weighs 39 lbs and is 39 inches tall. He is in the 80th and 90th percentiles for his age! We are proud of our above average kid! At Aaron's 2 week check-up he weighs 9 lbs 14 oz and is 21 inches long. That is a gain of 1 lb and 1 inch from the week before. It seems that he is well on his way to being a big boy like his older brother!
Here are a couple of pictures from last week.

Aaron compared to daddy's shoe...which one is bigger?

Same concept-different baby! This is Ryan at 2 weeks just like Aaron is in the above picture. Do they look alike? I'm not sure...

Ryan's last day of school

Ryan has been going to an Early Intervention preschool for about a year to work on his speech. He absolutely loves riding the bus and seeing his friends Hayden, Alex, and Malicki! His last day was the Tues before Thanksgiving because he can't go there once he turns 3. He hasn't grasped the concept that the "(s)chool bus" won't be coming anymore and that he won't be going to "Ryan's (s)chool". Every other day he asks if the "bus coming?" and I have to tell him that the bus won't be coming anymore. It is still up for debate whether or not he will start going to preschool after the first of the year. Here is a picture of Ryan on the bus on the last day of school!

Go Bucks!

Every year, Paul and I go to an Ohio State/Michigan party put on by his best friend Paul Mesker. It is an all day event which usually ends in me going home to take a nap and Paul staying late into the evening to play poker! We didn't bring the boys to the party, but the grandparents did a swap there so everyone could see them! Here are a few pictures from the big day!

Ryan's Castle

We've been playing blocks a lot lately with Ryan and every time we do, we build a "casel". This is the first "casel" Ryan has built around me, so I wanted to share with everyone "Ryan's casel".

Ryan breaking his mommy's heart and other things

I don't know if any other moms had this fear when they brought home their second child, but I was afraid that Ryan wouldn't want to be here anymore because of his new baby brother. Ryan absolutely broke my heart on Sunday when he came home from am-ma, papa, Bernies house. He stood at the door and cried hysterically for about a half an hour. Everytime I thought I had him settled down, Aaron would make a noise and it started all over again. Daddy seemed to think it was funny, but mommy's heart was breaking. Ok, so I'm probably just extra hormonal, but at one point I cried right along with him! He did something similar on Tues when he came home from school, but it wasn't quite as bad, it was more of a "I want to be outside" tantrum, which I can handle :) Here's a picture of him holding onto his coat and hood for dear life!

Aunt Jill also made a suprise visit home to see the family! It worked out well having her here because she was able to spend lots of time with Ryan and help in the transition. She even came over one day so I could take a nap! It was wonderful! Thanks Aunt Jill! Here's a picture of her holding her newest nephew.

On Monday, Nov. 17th, Aaron had a MD appt to meet his new MD. He weighed in at 8 lbs 14 oz which means he would have gained 13 oz in 3 days! His MD made us weigh him again because she didn't believe it! She still thinks that their scale was off, but I'm not so sure...he is a piggy just like his brother and will probably gain weight very quickly! Otherwise he is healthy and has "good coloring" for a newborn. We go back next week for a 2 week check-up and Ryan will have a 3 yr check-up at the same time...that ought to be a fun trip! I'll have to call in the reinforcements for help on that one!

Aaron's First Bath!

Even though we had a big day coming home, Aaron still needed a bath to keep his long hippie locks under control! Here are a couple of pictures from this momentous occasion. (It is a sponge bath as instructed!) If you look closely in the second picture, you'll even get to see the mustard color surprise he gave us!

Going home day!

Friday was going home day! Today Aaron weighed 8 lbs 1 oz but is eating well so we aren't worried that he's lost a little weight. He was also a little on the yellow side, but his test came back ok! We go to the MD on Monday and see how he is thriving at home!

It was an uneventful trip which was good! I was discharged late in the morning, but we had to wait on Aaron to be discharged which wasn't until the middle of the afternoon...talk about frustrating! Anyway, while we waited, Ry helped to get his baby brother ready to go.

A full length picture of the new baby! His outfit is a little big, but I'm sure not for long!

Aaron's Big arrival!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and well! It's been pretty hectic around here trying to adjust to our new lifestyle. Here's a quick summary of what happened in the hospital.

I was induced at 7:00 am, MD broke my water at 7:30 am, I was 5 cm dilated at 9:45 am and had Aaron at 10:53 am. Soo for those of you who need help, that means I dilated another 5 cm, pushed for 15 minutes, and had Aaron all within an hour and 10 minutes. Let's just say it was a little intense and I don't think Paul knew what to think! Luckily he is healthy and w/o problems! Day one was a very quiet one and Paul has posted lots of pictures already.

Day 2 was eventful also with lots of visitors who brought lots of cool gifts! Our thanks to all of them for thinking of us!

We also thank everyone for the phone calls, texts, and cards of congratulations! They are all very appreciated!

More Aaron Pics!

Guest Blogger: Daddy!

Aaron Day 2: Mommy & new son are in good spirits, well at least Mommy is, Aaron is asleep almost the whole time, so we assume he is pretty happy! Aaron had a circumcision today, so maybe he wasn't happy all day after all. Everything looks good for a welcome home for Aaron on Friday, and it looks like we will be getting a surprise vistor this weekend...Aunt Jill will be coming home!

So I know the people that come on here aren't looking for witty banter from me, you want pictures of the new baby, right? Well... I left the camera at the hospital so you will have to wait for new pictures from today, sorry! I will post more pictures I took on the Aaron's first day, featuring Grand-parents!

Aaron James Sadler is Here!

Guest Blogger: Daddy!
What a wonderful and long day it's been! Kim and I welcomed Aaron James Sadler into our family (so now it is truly Sadler BOYS) this morning at 10:53 am. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 20 inches long. Kim is REALLY glad to have been induced, but I'll save the details for her to fill in when she returns to her blogging duty;-) For now, it is past 10:00pm, and I have a very awake Ryan - and I know I have some pics and videos to post, so let's get to it!
This is a picture of a very alert Aaron at the ripe old age of about 20 minutes! He has been very quiet, with only 2 short cries in his first hour, and I'm not sure he cried the rest of the day! Let's see if he keeps that trend going for the next few years.
This is not my favorite picture, but Kim requested a "hair" picture to show off his hippy-blonde locks!

This is a picture of Big Brother Ryan getting to know Little 'bro Aaron. Check out the 1st meeting of the two Sadler Boys in a video just below!

Our first family picture of 4!

Here is a video of big brother Ryan meeting his "Baby Brother" Aaron for the first time!

Many more pics and videos to come, but I'm ready for bed! Thanks and love to all!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be induced tomorrow at 6 am. That is November 12th. I have a variety of emotions at this time-nervousness, apprehension, excitement, and tiredness just thinking about it!

We will update the site as soon as we can w/ pictures of the new addition! Paul still has me not sharing the name, but rest assured he will be named and it will NOT be a superstar/basketball/football name!

Until next time when we will officially be a family of four!

Ryan spinning

Ry does this crazy thing with his eyes when he spins around in circles. It almost looks as if he is trying to see behind him. Here is a video of him being silly, notice his eyes as he gets going....we think it is hilarious!

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat was really fun for Ryan this year. He actually kinda had the concept of what it was all about. He got to dress up as Spongebob and go around our subdivision with some other kids. He was fun to watch as he ran after the other kids from house to house. Even when the other kids quit, Ryan and his daddy hit up the rest of the houses! Whenever anyone asks him if he dressed up as Spongebob for Halloween, he just yells CANDY!!! Fortunately, he doesn't even like candy (except for suckers, which no one handed out) so there is a lot of chocolate for mommy and daddy to eat! This may make mom end up gaining as much weight w/ this baby as she did for Ryan...and she was doing sooo well!

Per Paul's request, we did take pictures of my belly and you will see them here. Please no comments about the ugly stretch marks! Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween and we will try to post a video at a later date of the trick or treat!

Housekeeper in training?

I was going through a nesting phase on Sunday while Paul was doing a basketball thing. Ryan decided mom looked like she was having so much fun, he wanted to join in! Here are a couple of pictures and I'll get dad to download the video I took....whatever you do, don't mind my grammar in the video...it is horrid! Also, don't mind Ryan's peanut butter and jelly face in the video, I wasn't able to catch him before I did it!

Disney Live!

As a last hooray for Ryan we decided to take him to see Disney Live in Columbus! Once we finally got to the theatre, (Paul had some problems w/ directions and made his 9 month pregnant wife walk A LONG way) Ry seemed to enjoy the show. The show had Mickey and friends, Pooh, Tigger, and Darby (who Paul thought was on crack), Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny! Throughout the entire performance he watched very intently and didn't show a whole lot of emotion until the very end! We were very glad to have this chance to show Ryan how special he is to us even though his world is about to be turned upside down!

On that note, went to the MD today. Birth is not immenent, so the wait continues....I've decided that any MD that says 5 weeks early to "pack your bags" should be shot :) It makes it hard b/c every day you wake up wondering...is today the day? And for 3 weeks, it has not been the day :)

Here are some pictures from Disney Live...if Paul has his way, they'll be pictures of a belly coming in a few days!
