Preschool picnic!

Ryan had his preschool picnic this year at the local park.  It was all three classes together at one picnic, so we decided that 2 more little girls wouldn't hurt :)  The day started out with a demonstration from the Sherriff and his canine.  Then it was time to eat followed by playtime!!!  I wasn't able to make it, but both Grandma's, Gina, Emma, Kaitlyn and Aaron were able to help Ryan celebrate!  Daddy was even able to make a quick appearance on his lunch break! Thanks everyone for making this such a special day!

Cousins night at the Tavern!

Brian, Gina and the girls came home just after Memorial Day.  In order to celebrate we attempted to get the cousins on the Clement side together.  We overtook the Tavern and had a great time catching up!  The kids ended up in the back and had a BLAST with the sand and the two kittens.  Luckily the kittens survived, but I am not sure how!

Memorial Day 2011

For Memorial Day we had a cookout at Grandma and PaPa Sadlers!  It had rained earlier in the day, but become nice enough that the kids could play in the baby pool and spray each other with the hose.  It was a great time with Aaron shocking everyone with his LOVE of the pool!

Nate, Ally, and Aaron....I think the pool is a little small!

Elmo!

Back in April, daddy and Aaron went to the Civic Center to see Elmo live!  It was a special night for all of us as we don't normally get to do things in pairs!  Here are some pictures from the night!

Swim lessons take 3

We decided to get Ryan into swim lessons again this spring.  This is his third set of lessons and we advanced him this time so he was with kids closer to his age/size.  He was such a trooper, doing whatever the teacher asked and always volunteering to go first.  He didn't always succeed, but as mentioned in a previous post, at least he tried!  His reward almost every week was getting to go out to lunch!  Swim lessons are now complete and he progressed each and every week.  We've decided he won't be our Olympic swimmer, especially since the teacher just wrote that he is a pleasure in class and he needs to keep trying!  Our goal is to just keep him safe around the water!   Way to go Ryan...now you are ready for vacation!!!
Having fun swimming!

They learned how to pull others to safety.  He is taking a ride back to the edge!

Ryan helping his buddy back to the side using a safe technique!

Still needs to extend his arms a little!   But trying hard!

Riding a bike without training wheels??

Ryan decided to be VERY brave and insisted on taking his training wheels off of his bike.  This was back on May 22nd.  Here are some pictures of his very valient attempt at riding his bike like a big boy.  Unfortunately he has the balance capabilities of his parents and after a couple of weeks trying, decided to wait a while longer before trying again.  After making this decision he came up to me and said, "Mommy, I am sorry I can't ride my bike like a big boy"  I told him that I was very proud of him because at least he tried and gave him a big hug!  My boy is already a perfectionist and will just have to learn that as long as you try, that is ultimately all that matters!  It is humbling the lessons he has to learn already!  He is getting so big!!!
Taking the training wheels off

Just starting to get the feel on the grass

After a good start, the first wipeout...at least it was on grass!

Now we have protective gear on and ready to try it on the driveway!

Look at that concentration!

Easter at home

As mentioned earlier we started out Easter day at home.  First the boys checked out their Easter baskets and then did an indoor easter egg hunt before going to church.  Sorry this is out of order...must be the pregnancy and my scattered brain!
They each received a Phineas and Ferb movie and character

Aaron checking his out pretty closely!

Start of the Plastic Easter egg hunt!  In order to keep it even, we told Ryan he could only pick up certain colors of eggs.

After all the eggs were found they were allowed to open each one.  Since Ryan doesn't like candy, we had a lot of coins and a couple of dollars.  Ryan was VERY excited to find his dollar!

Aaron didn't really care.  He was MUCH more excited about the candy!

??????

Maybe they really do love each other!  This was such a rare and great site that I had to share!

Peek a boo!

Aaron has figured out to see what we want when we call his name without actually coming down the stairs.  He is sooo cute when he does this because all you see is a little of his head and him saying "what?"

Whiffle Ball!

Paul and the boys have really gotten into whiffle ball this spring/summer.  Ryan has come a long way in being able to hit the ball and Aaron has even started trying when they let him!  We have a 5 gallon bucket of balls that they hit and then pick up and start over again.  It is very entertaining and I wanted to share some pictures with you

So far, good stance....chicken wing up and smile on face...just need to bend his knees!

Need to work on keeping his eyes open as he is swinging!!

Good follow through!

Pitching to his daddy...always has a backup ball in the other hand

Daddy helping Aaron get his swing started

Aaron still needs a lot of work on his stance!

Baby Sadler #3

On April 2nd we told the boys about the upcoming addition to our family in October.  Here is Ryan's response.

After Aaron woke up from his nap, we had Ryan tell him the big news.....it was hilarius to see his expression and in our opinion his enthusiasm (or lack thereof) in becoming the middle child :)  Don't worry Aaron we will always love you!!!

Tidbits from Daddy

On June 4, Ryan took his first big boy shower and loved it. He has insisted on taking a shower instead of a bath every day since.

Aaron finally started saying his name about two weeks ago. Before that, he would only say "me".

Ryan is currently obsessed with playing Mario Kart on Wii.

That is all.

Easter day!

This year's Easter was fairly eventful with the news of another baby Sadler coming in October.  Many of our extended family members did not know yet, so we had the fun of spreading the news!  We started the day with the Zirkle clan, went to the Sadler's, and then to the Moenters to end the evening.  Most of the pictures are from the Moenters where all of the 2nd cousins were able to pose for a picture minus Emma and Kaitlyn who were in Georgia!  What a great time these kids had playing together!  Ryan also has another best friend-Austin Moenter.  He was especially excited to find out that he is a cousin and they will always be able to get together!  The funniest part of the night was when Austin wouldn't leave without Ryan's phone number and Ryan invited Austin to Myrtle Beach with us!  I hope they will always remember the special bond of family!

Easter Bunny Trail!

Around Easter, St. Marys has an Easter Bunny Trail.  Several of the local businesses get on a list/map and allow the children to walk around town (drive to some of them) and get candy/coupons/prizes.  There is also the chance to meet the Easter bunny!  This was the first year that we participated and the boys seemed to have a really good time!  Of course we went with Ryan's best bud Bradyn and his mommy Nicole!  The end of the trail is at the school gym where there are several prizes raffled off and the chance to win a huge bunny!  However, the Sadler boys were tired after walking around so we decided to skip that part.  Aaron was already in heaven because he had as much candy as he would get at halloween!

Basketball time!

Aaron was really into playing basketball in his room for awhile during the latter part of dad's basketball season.  Here are some pictures of him practicing in his room!  Hopefully he gets better form as he gets older!
